Living Life with Godly Wisdom

Due to the advances in modern medicine, life expectancy is on the rise worldwide. The average life expectancy in the US is 78.7 years. People are living longer, more productive lives. Yet, if a person lives to be 100 years old, is that really a long time. James would point us to the brevity and uncertainty of our earthly existence. Life is short! On this, the whole of Scripture would agree. Just consider these verses: (Job 7:6-7, Job 9:25-26, Job 14:1-2, Psalm 39:4-5, Isaiah 40:6-8, and 1 Peter 1:24- 25) It is not the length of our lives but rather the depth of our lives that matters most. As C. T. Studd once said, “Only one life, ‘twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.”
