A Blessed Benediction
This morning, we finish our year-long journey through the Book of Hebrews. It has been an amazing study of the “superiority of Jesus.” This morning, we close by looking at a glorious benediction given by the author.
A benediction is a “declaration of blessings from God upon His beloved people”. Benedictions are usually short but extremely profound. They often express the author’s desire for God to bless and equip His people. This benediction in Hebrews 13 follows that pattern.
There are many benedictions recorded in Scripture. Here are a few examples, starting with one of the most well-known: “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)
