The Theology of Christmas

What a mess we’ve made! Modern man has sure made a mess out of Christmas. We have taken a celebration commemorating the Advent of our Lord; wrapped it in superstition, fables, and fiction; mingled and blended it with materialism and greed; and stripped it of any spiritual significance. For many it is simply a holiday to party and give gifts.

But it should not be so for the people of God! We should seek to find the real and eternal significance of the Advent of Christ. We should seek to understand the Biblical revelation concerning the greatest event in human history. Yes, I said history! Christmas is rooted and grounded in history. It is God writing His story of redemption and love!
