The Fruit of Wisdom Have you ever considered the great contrasts described for us in the Bible? They are worlds apart! Contrast between light and dark in 1 John 1:5-7; contrast between death and life in Romans 6:23; contrast between the blessed and the wicked in Psalm 1; and contrast between wisdom and folly in Proverbs 3:35, Proverbs 10:1, or Proverbs 10:14. James is writing New Testament “wisdom literature.” In this passage, he seems to be contrasting the difference between the wisdom that comes from above and the wisdom that is earthly and natural.
