Paul's Epistle of Praise and Thanksgiving

At least 19 times, the words “joy, “rejoice”, or “gladness” are found in this letter from Paul, written while he was in prison. How did Paul rejoice while in prison? What was the source of his joy? Not only was there an unexpected joy in Paul’s letter, but the source of his joy also seems to be grounded in a thankful heart!

Most people say, “I could be happy, if… I had a better job, more money, was in better health, had someone to love me, had a new home, different husband or wife, if I had different circumstances!” Paul was content with whatever the Lord sent into his life.
