Three 2,000-Year-Old Church Members

3 John gives us an insight into the life and ministry of a local congregation, especially the three individuals addressed by John. While there are many differences between 2 John and 3 John, there are also great similarities between them. The same author (the “elder” is John the Apostle) wrote a short letter with and anticipation of making a personal visit later to both. “Walking in truth” is also a common theme, along with Christian hospitality.
