When we last left or story, Haman was feeling extremely prideful due to his invitation to a private banquet with the King and Queen and was even invited again the following day. However, as he was leaving the palace, he was infuriated again by the refusal of Mordecai to bow down and pay homage to him.

His wife and friends advised him to deal with Mordecai once and for all and let the city see his triumph over Mordecai. So, the stage is set, a gallows 75 ft high has been erected and plans for the execution of Mordecai are set. However, God has other plans!
