Joshua's Farewell Charge
Sep 6, 2020 • Dr. Tony Collins • (Part 1) Joshua 22:1-6 Deacon Ordination
n the closing chapters of Joshua, (22-24), we find this aged man of God, a great warrior and leader of Israel gathering the people together to give them a charge concerning following the Lord in the future. This morning we will primarily examine chapter 22 which contains a charge and blessing upon the 2 ½ tribes that settled on the east side of the Jordan.
Moses had permitted them to settle in that land with the condition that they would cross over with the other tribes and fight until the land was subdued. Then they would be free to return over the Jordan and settle with their families. Chapter 22 records Joshua's farewell to the tribe of Reuben, Gad, and half of the tribe of Manasseh.
