Blessing or Cursing: Which Will You Choose?

We return to our series on the prophets this morning, with one of the strangest sets of miracles found yoked together. Elisha has received the mantle of his master Elijah, and he is now beginning his prophet ministry under the power of Yahweh.

After the mantle fell from Elijah, he returned to the Jordan River and cried out, "Where is the LORD, the God of Elijah?" and the waters parted as before. The power of God was resting upon Elisha in fulfillment of his request.
