My Times are in Your Hands

We close out our study of the Gospel of John with the conversation between Jesus and Peter continuing. Jesus has asked Peter three times, “Do you love me?” Peter was reminded of his past failure and given the opportunity to be restored and commissioned to care for the Lord’s sheep.
The title of the message today comes from Psalm 31:15, “My times are in your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!” These were the words of David written either during Saul’s persecution of David or Absalom’s rebellion against David. Either way, it was during a time of distress! David’s future was uncertain to him, but he knew he was in God’s hand.
