Keeping Your Focus in the New Year

Do you struggle with keeping focus? I find that I am often easily distracted, side-tracked, and struggle to remain focused. I know that this may be an age-related issue for me, but I fear that it is true of many of us when it comes to maintaining Spiritual disciplines and devotion.

After giving us a tour through the hall of faith, the writer of Hebrews now points us to the object of their faith. Faith is only as good as the object it is fixed upon.

"Fixing our eyes upon Jesus" (NASB) or "looking into Jesus" (KJV) or "Looking away from all that will distract us and focusing our eyes upon Jesus" (Amplified). Clearly the author is urging his readers to "fix their gaze" upon Jesus, as they seek to live out their Christian faith!
